FMC’s delegation attended the Seafood Expo in Brussels
FMC’s delegation attended the BRUSSELS SEAFOOD EXPO 2019 taken place from 7 to 9 of May, 2019 in Brussels – the capital of Belgium.
This year, the expo was rather crowded with 8 halls full of pavilions and visitors. Many visitors were interested in Vietnam’s seafood, but price was being a concern because of the competition pressure from ample supply sources of India and Ecuador with cheap prices.
At the expo, FMC met its partners to discuss for long term plans especially expanding breaded shrimp business, and we also agreed on a 322 MT contract with a big customer.
In general, this was a successful trip of FMC.
Brief News: Preliminary Result of POR13
This early morning – Vietnam time zone, US Department of Commerce (DOC) published the preliminary result of the thirteen administrative review (POR13) of anti-dumping duty case subject to exported shrimp from Vietnam to US. In concrete, the margin 0% was granted to the two mandatory respondents including Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Company and Nha Trang Seafood, and the margin was also granted to about thirty other respondents involved in the case.
That was good news for proving that the provided data of Vietnam’s companies had been reviewed adequately, and it would be a basis to achieve the lowest margin in the final decision of DOC. With this margin, importers would be more confident to continue consuming shrimp products of Vietnam.
